With over twenty years’ experience in the youth development field, Emily Emerson has dedicated her career to supporting systems of change benefiting children, youth and families. She has worked in direct services managing sexual health, violence prevention and afterschool programs as well as lead efforts to build coalitions, community partnership projects and quality youth program systems. With a strong commitment to racial equity and social justice, Emily has designed and developed community education and professional development training, provided professional coaching and consultation services, lead community engagement processes and facilitated multi-agency collaborative efforts. In 2017, Emily joined the YMCA of Greater Seattle as a Youth Programs Quality Coach to create a Y coaching system in collaboration with the Measurement, Impact and Assessment team. Emily graduated from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and received her Master of Philosophy from the University of Memphis in Memphis, Tennessee. She has great passion for quality youth programming, professional development, social emotional learning and social justice.
