Simple Interactions is a radically simple, research-based professional development program that can stand alone or complement existing quality improvement initiatives. Simple Interactions is laser-focused on adult-child interactions, which the presenters believe are the active ingredient in youth program settings—the make-or-break feature. The Simple Interactions team collects short videos of adults and children interacting and use those videos to talk about practice, along with a one-page tool to guide conversation. The approach is designed to identify already strong interactions and help participants make more of them. The workshop will introduce this efficient professional development package for out-of-school time programs.
