In 2018, the Denver Afterschool Alliance began integrating culturally responsive teaching (CRT) into our network’s quality improvement system. Their goals were to build foundational knowledge, develop a common language and deepen their collective commitment to equity. In this session, presenters will  share how their network positions CRT as critical to high quality out-of-school time programs and highlight social-emotional learning as essential for creating the conditions necessary for effective CRT and for promoting the cognitive development of all youth.
